I just finished writing a guest post on another blog and figured it would be a good topic to cover here. When I first started blogging a couple of years ago, I shied away from guest blogging and had the mentality that if I am going to write for anyone it will be me. I am happy to report that I am no longer close minded and I truly understand the value that guest blogging holds.

The biggest value to the guest blogger is increased exposure. I just started the Tycoon Blogger blog less than 2 months ago and I am fortunate that I was able to guest blog on a very popular and established blog in my niche. Most bloggers have to wait much longer before getting their shot. I understand that most of the readers will not follow the link to my blog, but it is still good to get my name and my blog (brand) out there. The next time I guest blog, whether it is on the same site or a different one, the likelihood of them remembering me and clicking through are much greater. This is especially true in my case, because I think the name “Tycoon Blogger” is very memorable and brand able. When they finally do make it over to your blog, you have a great change of capturing them as a loyal reader, because they came over for all the right reasons. This is the best traffic you can get.

Another benefit of starting to guest post is that the more you do it, the more chances you will get to do it in the future and maybe even on some of the really big blogs.

If you have the chance to guest post, do it. If you do not have the chance, go out there and make it happen, it won’t fall into your lap.

Well folks, it is official. BlogFluence Forums are open for business. We felt a blog forum would complement our blog directory nicely. I know there are other blog forums out there and quite frankly there is only one good one that I am actually a member of. When I started my first free blog directory SubmitMyBlog.com last year, I was looking for blog forums to become active in to promote my site. I though that there would be tons of high quality forums just like in the webmaster world. I was mistaken and very disappointed in the number and quality, this is what prompted me to start this forum. I want to create and be a part of a blogging community that is really looking to help each other promote their blogs. I learned early on that no blogger can be an Island. You need support, you need a network and you need alliances out there. That is what we will accomplish, we will forge relationships and alliances with each other and grow together. Sure there will be information and the typical forums but I major emphasis will be on how we can collaborate as a group for the betterment of all. Interested? Sign up for the newest blog forum on the block.

What does BlogFluence mean. According to the Urban Dictionary, BlogFluence is defined as Blog + Influence = BlogFluence. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=blogfluence

When I first heard this term uttered, I just knew I had to own this domain name.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dan, I am from the United States and I have been involved in online marketing, blogging and other Internet activities for several years now.

Here is a brief list of some of my web properties:

Own and manage 3 blogs, this will make 4

Own and manage 3 web directories, this will make 4

Own and manage a web content writing firm

Own and manage 2 resume writing companies

Own and manage 1 forum, this will make 2

Own and manage niche job board

Maintain a domain portfolio of 124 domains

My plans for BlogFluence are to build a premier resource for bloggers, integrating a hand edited blog directory, blog for bloggers and a blogging forum.

The Blog Directory is open for submissions and I am just putting the finishing touches on the Forum.

More to follow…..
